The fashion design sketches are the work of the late Ted Saulino. Mr. Saulino studied fashion design during the period of High Glamour, from 1953 to 1957, at the Philadelphia Museum School, now known as the Philadelphia Academy of the Arts. You can see the influence on his work of some of the elegant ladies of the time, e.g. Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. He achieved success in the fashion design world, working with Halston and Geoffrey Bean during the '70's and '80's. He died during the 1990's. Jootz loves his elegant designs, as well as his beautiful, simplistic way of sketching women . . . sometimes just a shadow implies a face, or a few quick lines represent an attitude. We purchased his set of fifty-plus sketches from Mr. Saulino's estate, and are proud to incorporate his art into our line of decoupaged glass Giftware.
